At First Baptist Church we are dedicated to helping disciples of Christ increasingly submit all of life to the empowering presence and Lordship of Jesus Christ!

In Ephesians 4, we are told that God intends for all disciples to mature, to grow up in EVERY way into Christ.  And, we are told the way that this is going to happen – it is as each one of us “speaks the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15).

This truth that we speak is “the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation” (Ephesians 1:13).  It is the “truth that is in Jesus” (Ephesians 4:21).  The church is supposed to be a gospel declaring and a gospel proclaiming people – gospel saturated and gospel fluent.  And when the church speaks the truths of Jesus, the truths of who who he is and what he has done on our behalf, into every situation – Jesus is glorified and we are edified!

We believe such all of life discipleship happens best in gospel fluent communities that share life on life, life in community, and life on mission.  We call these communities Life Groups.
